Rebecca Rose, CVT and author of Career Choices for Veterinary Technicians: Opportunities for Animal Lovers, joins us for a discussion of today's veterinary technicians, including today's roles, how to advance one's career and what students should be doing to succeed.

Rebecca is the owner of Red Valley Rose Consulting, LLC, in Gunnison, Colorado. Rebecca and her co-author, Dr. Carin Smith, recently completed their second collaboration together, Career Choices for Veterinary Technicians, which was published by The American Animal Hospital Association this past March. Rebecca is Veterinary Pet Insurance's liaison to the veterinary community in Colorado, giving educational classes to technician students and veterinary healthcare teams.

Episode 5: Live from the 2009 AAHA Phoenix Conference

This episode of the AAHA podcast was recorded live at the AAHA Yearly Conference in Phoenix. In this podcast you'll hear direct from your peers across North America as they discuss topics surrounding the economy, practice transitions, benefits offered by AAHA and its partners and, not surprisingly, the new Accreditation Awareness Campaign.

This campaign is the biggest outreach effort to the pet-owning public in AAHA's history. It aims to help pet owners understand the benefits of taking their pets to an AAHA-accredited practice.

From the floor of the exhibit hall to the classroom hallways, attendees share their experiences from the AAHA Phoenix 2009 Yearly Conference. Special thanks to all those who took the time to contribute their thoughts and voices to the AAHA Podcast.
