About the Speakers

Jacqueline C. Neilson, DVM, DACVB
Jacqueline (Jacqui) C. Neilson, DVM, DACVB, graduated from the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993, upon which she entered small animal general private practice in the Portland, Oregon area. In 1997, Dr. Neilson opened a behavior referral specialty practice, the Animal Behavior Clinic, where she continues to practice today. She is president elect of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists and past president of the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association.

Richard E. Goldstein, DVM, DACVIM, DECVIM-CA
Dr. Goldstein graduated and interned at the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine and completed a residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the University of California, Davis, in 1998. Dr. Goldstein is currently an associate professor of Small Animal Internal Medicine at Cornell and is board-certified in small animal internal medicine by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. His clinical and research interests are centered around small animal nephrology.

Mary Schell, DVM, DABT, DABVT
Dr. Mary Schell received her DVM from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1977. She worked as an Associate Veterinarian in Wisconsin from 1977-80, and owned a practice in Iowa from 1980-85. Dr. Schell joined the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center in 1997 as a consulting veterinarian in clinical toxicology, and is currently team leader and senior toxicologist. In 2004, she became a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology, and in 2006 achieved Diplomate status by the American Board of Veterinary Toxology.
