Diagnosing your patients is often like solving a mystery. Just when you think you have it all figured out, a new twist presents itself! Offered by AAHA, in collaboration with Heska, this three-case discovery series is designed by a panel of experts to challenge veterinarians and technicians. The series will inspire the entire medical team to advance their diagnostic skills, as well as provide a fun team-building experience.
Join AAHA Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer, Mike Cavanaugh, DVM, DABVP as Dr. Cav Vet Detective! Presented as investigative cases by Dr. Cav, the Solve It! series will pique curiosity and give participants the information they need to excel in key areas of veterinary diagnostics. By combining engaging content in a competitive case-study format and adding an element of mystery, AAHA and Heska have created an educational program of the highest caliber for veterinary professionals.
How does “Solve It!” work?
This series of three, three-week-long cases will take place during the months of August, September and October, 2013. The series is designed for veterinarians and veterinary technicians to participate together, for each learner to earn 9 hours of affordable, online/self-paced scientific continuing education credit.
This third offering of the Solve It! case series will include three commonly encountered and challenging topics:
Cardiology with specialist Clarke E. Atkins, DVM, DACVIM
Dermatology with specialist Douglas DeBoer, DVM, DACVD
Orthopedics with specialist Randall Fitch, DVM, MS, DACVS
Practice teams will be provided with sequential information about each case for the first two weeks, until the final mystery diagnosis is successfully solved. The third week will be a web conference by the topic expert, highlighting important clinical pearls, including advice for future case management.
Practice teams will compete to correctly answer the two “Solve It!” questions for each case. Teams must complete all 3 cases in the series and submit answers for each Solve It! question to be eligible for the cash prize drawings. Every correct Solve It! answer received will be counted for a chance to win fantastic cash prizes!
