Clients have so many questions about choosing the best foods for their pets. They bring information from their favorite website or magazine filled with ranking systems praising some pet food products, and trashing others. This discussion will offer resources and an approach to sort through information and help clients evaluate and choose a great food for their pet. Julie A. Churchill, DVM, DACVN
Dr. Churchill is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Nutrition and currently an Associate Clinical Professor in companion animal nutrition at the University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a faculty member, section chief and director of the Nutrition Service at the University Veterinary Medical Center. Her clinical interests include all aspects of small animal clinical nutrition, including the role of nutrition in maintaining wellness, obesity prevention and treatment, the nutritional needs of geriatric patients, nutritional management of kidney diseases, and critical care nutrition. She is the past chair of the Collegiate Committee on Curriculum and Education Policy and is a member of the Veterinary Clinical Science Department Education Committee. Dr. Churchill serves on the Education Committee of the American College of Veterinary Nutrition and is the ACVN representative on the Pet Nutrition Alliance Non-branded Tools Committee.
